Today, if you don't need a slider, or the XPS, this is a good price delivered.

Update... Lowes, Home Depot and other tool suppliers now have same price. With military discount, Lowes and/or Home Depot is now going to be a better deal.

You can buy the XPS upgrade kit for about $70 and install it on this saw. However at that point you're probably better off just buying it already installed as that model is $361 at Home Depot right now.

XPS Is worth it. I have the 716xps and it is a solid and accurate saw.

For the 716XPS, Home Depot [homedepot.com] shows $380 at 62701 (Illinois) and 87102 (New Mexico). Maybe cheaper where you are? $19 is $19, right?

But yes, if you want the XPS. you may as well buy it already on the saw.... the kit was about $80 delivered for me, but perhaps there is a cheaper source?

To my knowledge, you void the warranty installing that kit yourself.

Well, then remove the kit before having it warrantied....? Besides, I don't think these saws fail very often.

I bought the kit from here and it works great. A nice "upgrade".

But as others said this may not be economically right now based on Home Depot pricing for the XPS.

Yes and no. It's heavier and takes up much more room. I only really need the sliding functionality small percentage of the time. A good circular or track saw would be better in those situations

Zip 20852 has it for 361.25. Been trying to convince myself to get this to replace my ryobi 10" slider which is wildly inaccurate with sliding cuts. But I pretty much just crosscut everything on the table saw instead.

Depends on what you are using it for. I like the sliding capability and have used it more than I anticipated. If you don't anticipate using a compound miter often, then this one is fine. For larger boards, even though technically the saw can handle them, I prefer using the sliding feature.

I was looking for a 10" sliding, apparently they are out of stock everywhere. Supply chain?

From what I found it is actually worse than 716.
