I've not seen any uptick in spam calls since I got the deal last October. Just giving a data point.

I got it last time and love it. I added the Creality Ender CR Touch Auto Bed Leveling Sensor Kit that frequently has a lightning deal for $33 at Amazon.

I believe VoIP number don't work. People with numbers from Mint and some people with Google voice have had issues in the past.

I have one of these that I purchased back on the last deal. It's a cute printer to tinker with, but it's finely as hell! you'll have to upgrade and tweak sooo many pieces to only find out no matter what you upgrade or tweak your prints will still come out fked up. Too many variables on this printer for things to go wrong. At this price if you're willing to put in the time and work, then yes it's cool to tinker. But not a plug and go immediately without headaches.

I'd say no, not worth the extra money. The V2 differences probably won't affect you in anyway, especially if this is your first printer
This will be my 4th FDM printer and I also have an SLA as well.

One thing that is attractive with the v2 is the silent stepper motors. Glass bed is nice too.

Feel like buying this one but don't know why! Any suggestions on how this can be helpful for a normal professional?

(If I don't buy 3D printer now, I am gonna feel left behind and old)

If noise is a concern I'd go V2 but personally I don't mind the noise. I've used glass and the factory coating and haven't really noticed much difference.

You can buy them from aliexpress for about $24 if you wait a couple of weeks.

What is a normal professional? You can print a lot with a 3d printer and some patience. Just go to yeggi .com and search for what you might want to print

You only need a computer to run a slicer. It doesn't actually connect to a computer to use. Cura is available for windows, Mac and Linux so. O issue.

How robust of a computer is needed to run one of these printers?

Also, for those who are already into 3D printing: How quickly do you have to replace spools? I know it depends upon the size of what you are printing, but I'd be interested in getting an idea as to how much you can print per spool of material.
Any more modern computer will be fine as you only use the computer to generate the gcode (printing instructions) for the printer from a 3d model. The printer itself is standalone, you put the sd card in with the gcode file and tell it to print. (Note this printer does come with it's own SD card with some models already converted to gcode on it.)

As far as spools, you can get quite a few prints out of a spool, I've done a couple 4-8 hour sometimes even 24 hour prints on a single spool. So you can do quite a few larger prints on a spool. As you said it really is determined by what you print, how much infill it has and how many you are printing.

+1. Purchased last year and set it up a couple of weeks ago, I don't have a ton of free time so I will mess with it for a few minutes here and there. The learning curve is steep!

The demo prints on the provided SD card print fine, but anything from Thingiverse parsed through Cura with various Ender 3 Pro "templates" just don't stick to the bed or print right. Since the provided 3D print files print fine it must me a software related issue, but man it's driving me nuts…
