Xfinity customer here. Tried and it say linked temporarily. Does this require us to go through this process every 4 hours!!!

"Your account has been temporarily linked and you're good to go. Enjoy Peacock Premium!"

"Enjoy for 4 hours, then try to link again."

I was xfinity internet customer and ordered flex last year, I was able to activate peacock premium($4.99 value) for free as soon as flex was shipped, I never opened or activated flex and I disconnected xfinity internet couple of months ago and surprisingly my peacock premium account is still valid for free.

I haven't had cable or satellite in ages. The problem isn't so much their plan packages, but the fact they want to nickel and dime me, forcing me to rent boxes for every TV. I was paying about $45-$50 a month in fees, taxes, rentals, and we didn't even have that many TVs. Now I own my rokus and fire TV boxes and pay less than that for Hulu, HBO Max, Disney, etc. combined.

With ad-blockers on web browser, the ads can be avoided - at least for now.

I was able to get a Raspberry Pi 4 when it was in stock a few weeks ago and got Pi-hole running on my network. I forgot which blocklist I added but I have not seen any ads on Peacock on my Apple TV since I got my Pi-Hole up and running with the blocklist.

I am one of those who has no choice but Comcast for internet. It's pretty reliable and fast, but they keep raising the monthly fees and I use my own equipment. I gave up on cable and streaming TV as they too keep raising prices. Now, I just use a mix of free streaming services and apps for the local news (sorry to see Locast go). I have no desire to get Peacock free or otherwise.

The last 4 months or so our mailbox has been bombarded with TMobile 5G service. I would like to give it a try vs Comcast, but despite all the ads we get, it is not available in our area. And, so I am on a waiting list......

Just wait for Comcast to tack in a $5/month Flex fee. No thanks. Only grandmas watch TV.
You don't need to keep the flex. You just need to do the initial sign up to activate Peacock Premium, then you can just return the Flex when it arrives. Don't even need to open it up.

I'm fairly certain you don't need to get the Flex at all, the tag line on the website even says "Have Xfinity?
You get Peacock Premium." Nothing about Flex. I have had this deal for months and never had the flex.

"Sorry, your Xfinity service doesn't include Peacock Premium at no extra cost, but you can still watch with your existing plan."

Xfinity internet only customer here. You don't need the flex if you have 2 or more services from xfinity. It says that somewhere in an FAQ.

So Comcast is literally going to make me order a flex box for "free" to get peacock with ads? Don't want to have hardware checked out from xfinity to return later, no thanks.

Interesting, just signed up Xfinity internet because Sonic is not yet available to my building.
The rep keep pushing me to take Flex because it is free, but I declined it.

Since I have a TV box I don't really need any extra streaming device. And deep down I feel that one day they will start charging you the Flex service and a hassle to cancel and return.
