Big question is if those are qc issues, or just fakes fulfilled by Amazon (top review). You shouldn't have the same issue ordering from Levi's themselves.
I find Levi's has pretty rough consistency across their fabrics in particular. Each colorway has the potential to be a very different fabric and feel with arguably the same cut. The reality of things though is that a 34x30 (or any other size) is going to fit VERY differently if it's rigid 100% cotton, washed 100% cotton, and then gets even more different when they start adding varying levels of elastane/spandex and polyester. The Amazon product page is not always accurate when it comes to these other fabric blends. These may fit differently as well, as the fabric weave is soft-washed twill which is not the same as a denim weave.

Most of that review is just complaining about changes in the appearance of the hardware and tags, and you'll see those same variations ordering directly from Levis. They're also comparing a old pair of 100% cotton jeans to newer stretch jeans.
I actually have a pair of those exact same 514s they're using as a baseline (with the red striped tag at the back) and they weigh 6oz less than a brand new pair of 100% cotton 514s.
I'm not saying that Levis quality hasn't changed over the years, but that reviewer doesn't know what they're talking about, and it's a shame it's been sitting at the top for so long.

I prefer these best with untucked shirts, work well if any shirt you'd feel comfortable tucking into jeans.
