I bought a similar pair of headphones from AKG, the Y50bt. Had to RMA the first ones I received for sound issues. The replacement pair died after a few years of use, but I had stopped using them before then anyway. They had lots of problems connecting to windows machines and the mic was basically useless.
I find it hard to understand. There are no less Windows computers than cell phones. How is manufacturers (they use off-the-shelf parts anyway) not make a Windows compatible headphone?

Because it's the other way around. Microsoft has taken forever to figure out how to make a Bluetooth compatible Windows driver that is actually Bluetooth compatible to the spec.

I don't buy that argument. The Jabra and AirPods work well with windows laptops over BT. I also have a Sony and another non name brand over the head headphones that work well (BT) with windows 10 laptops as well.

To be fair, I probably shouldn't have blamed Microsoft per se, rather than the variances in Bluetooth chipsets among different revisions and makers of the hardware. I have identical releases of windows 10 running on HP desktops one generation apart, with different Bluetooth interfaces from the manufacturer. One works well with Bluetooth devices, and the other has issues waking the Bluetooth interface up from sleep/idle.

Not suitable for use with MS Windows!
I purchased these headphones in 2020 and they initially worked with my Windows 10 laptop.
When the 20H2 update arrived the microphone stopped working, and has not worked since, even with a fresh Windows installation.
Following several discussions with support I have finally received the response
"unfortunately these headphones are not compatible with Computers or Laptops"

I have its predecessor Y50BT free with buying S8... Used for about 3 years now the battery life is no more than 1-2 hours...
