Totally disagree with this opinion.

IMO, at this price this grinder is a no brainer for anyone in the market for an inexpensive. America's Test Kitchen rates it their top inexpensive grinder.

ATK performed blind taste tests with the staff and Boston-area experts (coffee dealers, coffee shop owners, baristas and regular coffee drinkers), and no one could tell the difference between coffee made from grounds from bur vs blade grinders.

That suggests that uniform size of grounds has little to not detectable impact on flavor, even for coffee experts. Even more so for us regular coffee drinkers.

I've had this grinder for a few months and it's been great. I follow James Hoffman's instructions on approximating lattes and cappuccinos at home with this grinder and an aeropress and was shocked by how decent the coffee turned out.

Just keep in mind to pulse the grinder, then shake the grounds, then pulse again. This keeps grounds from hiding under the blade.

As good a place as any to start if you want to try the bean thing. But you'll buy a burr grinder sometime in the future, too.

My understanding is that this is the best of the worst coffee grinders

Hey, there is the grinder i bought, use daily, for about 6 years ago--for the same sale price(of course inflation makes today price even better, dollar for dollar, )

I like it But i use it to fill a 32 ounce container. Takes many grinds to fill.
I actually am trying to break it going on 2 years so i can buy a bigger grinder--- i press down and make the motor go..wooo,wooooo, WOOOOOOOOOO,WOOOOOOO,WOO,woo,,,wooo,WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO--woo,wooo,woooo,wOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO...
--------the grinder wont break!

Great price for this. Yes, its NOT a Burr grinder but it does the job for an everyday coffee-drinker who uses whole beans. I've had mine for coffee for 5+ years now. Also nice as a spice grinder. For this price its a good one.

Accurate. does the trick and it is very durable, but it's not a burr grinder which coffee enthusiasts prefer. If you make drip coffee or need a cheap grinder that does the trick, this is fine. Do not try this for an espresso machine, you may be very disappointed...

I used it in college when I had a drip coffee machine. Simply does the job and it is super durable.

Take note that when using these kinds of grinders (metal blade and not a burr grinder), "pulsing" of the grind button/function will produce a more consistent ground coffee, especially if you are not doing a full 3oz/6 tablespoon amount, the max for this grinder. I find that if I only grind beans less than the max amount for the other similar grinder I've used, the beans do not get ground up consistently because the beans have too much space to move around in the grinder, that it ends up going along in the same rotation as the metal blade. Pulsing it would help the beans settle first before the next rotation, thus creating a more consistent ground coffee. Hope that helps.

this grinder sucks, unless you wanna be fingering greasy grounds out of your grinder at 6 am, just spend $30extra dollars

A small brush works fine too. No big deal.

I had a expensive burr grinder but found out it really doesn't affect flavor enough to justify price. After mine broke, got one of these. Been great. This is almost regular price on Walmart

It's not a good coffee grinder, but it's a great spice grinder. And easy to clean, too.

I've had this brand grinder for over a decade, use for coffee beans and spices (mostly cumin seeds). It has worked great without fuss with little care. I'd probably buy the same brand when the one I have eventually stops working.

I use this grinder for my supplements because I can't swallow without choking. It works great. I abuse these things. It's lasted longer than others and it has a skinny mouth it's great for pouring out of it.

I've had this grinder for 11yrs now. Had to replace the first one after 3yrs. In my opinion it doesn't grind beans fine enough for espresso, which will cause additional overflow steam on espresso steam machines and taste can be inconsistent with semiautomatic. However, I have yet to fork up additional dollars for a better grinder because does get the job done and it's extremely easy to use. Once you learn the proper way of tilting and avoiding a mess this is well worth it for under $20
