It only makes sense if you are at or near a Costco. Driving 10+ miles out of the way to save $2 is not a savings. It will cost that much, if not more, in wear and tear on the car plus the time wasted to drive there.

That is true. We used to drive 15 min to the closest Costco until a few years ago. However, we never just drive there for gas. Get a roasted chicken will get the gas cost paid off. Peace
