The $5 monthly coupons still work in store and are now better since you can buy digital currency online. You can also still double dip by using your reward in store first then using the coupon online (save your code before using it in store)
I was able to buy a $10 PSN card in store then a $10 PSN digital credit online. I'm not sure if you can still buy $5 currencies.

Edit: to be more specific, there seems to be an issue where it won't allow you to check out with a $0.00 balance in your cart when using the monthly PUR code. The "filler" item is more about making sure your cart is >$0 during checkout.
For example, I did:
$5 Xbox GC
-$5 PUR code
$1 Make a Wish donation (but this could be anything)
Final checkout cost: $1
I got 5 on it
Also, you redeemed for $5 eshop in store? I was just there and person said they didnt even have a $5 increment - started at $10?

Like this for $0.29 - "SkyDrift: Extreme Fighters Premium Airplane Pack - PC"

Used it on the $5 Nintendo eShop digital code. $0.29 to not have to drive to the store, totally worth it.
Same here. Trying since Wednesday and nothing.
EDIT: Disregard my reply. Thanks to those who educated us on having a filler.

Do you input both parts of the code (before and after the dash)?
Edit: it's both parts from the in-store barcode

Yes the whole thing.
