They appear that way to you, an adult. But for children they are perfect. I own 6 of these "sets" of different themes and all the kids LOVE them. It's easy for young children to flip through and look at the pics. Small enough for the 1 year old to use. Still entertains the 4 year old. Even the 6 and 7 year old cousins come by and page through them

Frankly I used to think so as well - but they're perfect size for a baby to hold and sturdy enough to be handled by them. These, or the many like these, are really good, especially for on the go or high chair or car seat distraction. I also observed that it helped a baby who had trouble focusing, because each page has only one item.

I can't speak to these precise books but i want to resound this point about other books I have like these. Those books don't even have famous characters like these.

Yes, I also own one of these sets. We've had it for a couple of years and it's still one of my son's favorite things to read together. The books are so small we can read all 12 at bedtime.
