Nice find! This was $100 more before today's shell shocker deal. Stout machine. Virtual benchmarks spec out at a UFO for Gaming. Not easy to do for $1399. Won't be obsolete for many many years. Applause

Neither, wait for 12th gen laptops in a few weeks. Early reviews are out and show 25% CPU gains over Zen 3 mobile.

Haven't you read the benchmarks for 12th gen? 11th gen is NOTHING compared to it. You're wasting money on this. Ryzen is more efficient, but significantly slower

Do you have any good reviews for the mobiule 12th gen in particular? I have a local guy selling a dirt cheap 11th Gen Legion 5i Pro but depending on how badly the 12th gen stomps everything I might just have to hold off.

It's Intel though. Would I still be able to cook pizza with the 12th gen?

I thought the bottleneck in a gaming laptop is the GPU not the CPU? Wouldn't an 11th Gen Intel CPU paired with an RTX 3070 outperform a 12 Gen Intel CPU paired with an RTX 3050?

12th gen desktop is more efficient than Zen 3 in gaming/single thread, and equally efficient in multithreaded. Only the 12900k is really inefficient at stock settings because its pushed hard out of the box. As for mobile, 12th gen is more efficient than Zen 3 due to the massive performance gains. But dont get this wrong, even though 12th gen is efficient, it doesnt mean its easy to cool, just like the 5800x and up arent ice cold either, youll want a big tower cooler or AIO.

Are we discussing about desktop CPU here? All the laptop reviews available for mobile Alder Lake shows it has even slightly higher power consumption than 11th gen Tiger Lake and no match for even Ryzen 5000H series for efficiency and throttles significantly in battery. In Jarrod's review, on battery, a 12th gen i9 performance is same as a 5900HX. Don't give examples of desktop processor performance while comparing laptop CPUs.
