I have this and it is worth it even without the dock…with the dock you have to clean the filter anyway so u can't just set it and forget it

Can someone comment if this vacuum is better/worse than S6 MaxV?

Isn't the only difference between the S7+ and the S7 Max V Ultra that the latter refills the water container and "cleans" the mop pad automatically? Seems nice, but an extra $700 for that convenience seems crazy… especially when it's so easy to swap the mop pad with a spare and filling the water takes about 20 seconds. I think the S7+ (I would get the vacuum dock to be clear) is the sweet spot.

No there is more (object detection and avoidance, one-way video calling really!, 100% more suction, etc.) you get with MaxV versions, but subjective of whether or not one deems these additions worthwhile.

I for one am a sucker for latest tech, but at the same time realize that I'll stop using the mop feature because I'll get lazy to replace and clean the cloth, let alone keep filling the water when the vacuum is halfway done with mopping and runs out of water.

Glad these are still getting cheaper with the supply chain/chip shortage and China trade tensions. I am still happy with my S5 Max bought in 2020. Will wait for a deal for at least the S7+ or MaxV before upgrading.

Gotcha! I thought the vacuum itself was the same, but the dock was just different. Makes more sense now.

I'll say that for hardwood floors, the suction of the S7 is plenty, though more might be useful for carpet. The water tank is also big enough for about a 1400-1500 square foot floor.

Battery isn't big enough to clean that large of an area without going back to base if you clean on Turbo power and high intensity scrub though. The unfortunate thing is that it takes forever to charge and must charge up fully before finishing the job. Frown

I'll recommend this vaccum. Works great, even better with the dock - I was worried about the cost of the bags but the original one is still in the dock 3 months in

You got me hooked on the s7 maxv! Hopefully it goes for much less than the MSRP.
I have the s6 maxV and the camera avoidance is useless. Still knocks stuffs around or gets stuck.

never had a vacuum robot - is one unit sufficient to cover two floors of a 5000sqft home?

The Dock is worth every penny. I have mine set to clean everyday and the bag can last 2-3 weeks with 1 dog and 2 cats before you have to replace it. The only downside is you will have to purchase the bag at couple of dollars each but I don't really mind paying for it it makes emptying dust so easy and dust free.
