You'd be surprised. I've jumped many friends cars with something like this. Way easier than grabbing cables and moving cars
Close to 0%. But these don't need to be fully charged to function. I have a similar device that was sitting in my trunk for close to a year that was able to start my car with a dead battery in the middle of the night.
For years all of our cars have had a jump-starter like this one and I recharge them (more like top their charge up as they've never been fully discharged) every six months, or after using them, and they've never let me down. They've come in handy many times (more often for easily jumping someone else's car). It's still amazing to me that something so small can jump start a car! I think having one of these is a no-brainer.

Heck, my wife made fun of me when I bought one for her car a few years ago. She sort of patiently watched me show her how to use it before I put it in her trunk. A few months later she had a dead battery when she was out and about. AAA said they could be there in 45 minutes. Thankfully she remembered how to use it (it's easy) and was back on the road in minutes. She has sung it's praises ever since.

I like the LCD display for debugging but the ton of reviews on broken clamps is pretty worrisome....

One really bad thing is the USB-C is only for input charging, the output is just USB-A output. That's a pretty big con considering you're much more likely to use it for charging than car jumping most of the time.

I bought s 10800 mAh one from Amazon 4 years ago for $30 that still works well and has USBC in/out, some no name urlhasbeenblocked brand, can't find it on Amazon anymore but can see other ones from urlhasbeenblocked on there.

I didn't give a URL, I just named the brand, its (DB) decibal shortform + power. Not sure why names are getting censored on here, maybe the company involved in genocide? Anyways, not sure how different all these power packs are, but shop around, for this much you want a bigger battery pack that's usb-c in/out. Costco nice because if it breaks 2 years later can take it back unlike HomeDepot / Walmart where its 90 days but better than Amazon which is just 30 days.

Look at this one on Walmart, it even has an A/C port 100W inverter built in! You could use it to power a tire inflator, cellphone, portable fridge etc. for $59. That's definitely worth the extra $19 cost.

What are the chances that you have a dead battery in the middle of nowhere out in future AND you have a fully charged one of these jump starters in your trunk ready to rescue?

I think the general recommendation I've heard is to set a reminder to bring it in and charge it every 3 months or so to keep it topped off. Maybe a bit more frequent if you are in more extreme temps.

I also have a d b one I got from Amazon for damn near free. It sat in our mini van for about a year and I needed a jump, it still had 70%. It jumped it with no problem. Super easy and convenient.

I've been using my Noco jumpstarter to power my daughter's 6v Power Wheel. Really adds a crap ton of torque to those little machines. So powerful I was able to sit on it and get the wheels moving

Isn't 8,000mAh pretty weak?

I've seen some around 50,000, more expensive of course, floating around. But they have the ability to charge cars, multiple phone, and laptops for days.

I'm amazed and impressed she remembered. My wife is completely disinterested in these kind of things, and would 100% have video called me to walk her through step by step. laugh out loud

I have one of those old school huge battery jumpstarter things I bought close to 10 years ago at a pepboys, maybe it's time to switch to something smaller like this.

I've had mine for 5 years (brand that was removed from Amazon and rhymes with barkey). I jumped a coworkers car last week. I've never charged it since I first purchased but I probably should…

100% for me.
I have it charged before annual travel to family for Thanksgiving then leave it under driver's side seat.
if never used by next thanksgiving, it's down to 1 bar.
(I live near DC and winters are below 32F.)

if i do use it, then i usually charge it immediately when i reach my destination, if possible.
(altho I have done 2 jumps for my v4 car because i forgot.)
Mine's a RavPower 400A 10k mAh for $19 from amazon a few yeas ago.)

even tho the one in the op is from costco and you have peace of mind that you can return it anytime if it fails, having the clips break when you need to jump makes me want to skip this.
