only negative config is only through the app, but supposedly its a security thing. I like configuration through the web browser
You'll likely replace the WiFi side before you need to replace the Zigbee side.
There's really no need to combine Zigbee/Z-wave controllers and other networking gear.
Lots of people got burned by the combined SmartThings / WiFi mesh hub with lack of updates in half of the system. I wouldn't be surprised when this suffers the same.

But this might not be an issue with eero, at least with regards to the WiFi half.
