Don't buy networking gear with a built-in Zigbee (or Z-wave) hub. It's a bad combination for the long term.

Love the eero pro 6 in terms of easy installation, range of wifi, speed
only negative config is only through the app, but supposedly its a security thing. I like configuration through the web browser

The included Zigbee hub will be a second thought. It likely won't be updated. It's probably not got a good platform for supporting automation.

You'll likely replace the WiFi side before you need to replace the Zigbee side.

There's really no need to combine Zigbee/Z-wave controllers and other networking gear.

Lots of people got burned by the combined SmartThings / WiFi mesh hub with lack of updates in half of the system. I wouldn't be surprised when this suffers the same.

Gotcha. So if you only ever use the Wi-Fi part then you wouldn't hit those issues?

Mostly. There's always the case that firmware updates get delayed on this device, because it's special. It's a problem on SmartThings, for instance.

Here's another person talking about a SmartThings WiFi+hub that has lagged behind on firmware updates. https://community.smartthings.com...-us/239601

But this might not be an issue with eero, at least with regards to the WiFi half.
