Better graphics? BAD. Different gameplay? BAD. Different spin on Multiplayer? BAD. Modifiers and upgrades? BAD.
The issue with this game is the gaming community is extremely entitled and it seems no one played the game, yet everyone circle jerks the same comments.
So let me give you my honest opinion on this game, from someone who has played his fair share of zombie games including l4d and l4d2.
Don't go into this game expecting left 4 dead. it's not left 4 dead. you're not playing left 4 dead. it's a different game. if you want left 4 dead, play left 4 dead.
The card system is a twist on the game mechanics, something to make the game feel a little different. There are also mutations, weather effects, and random weapon spawns. This makes it seem that you'll never play the exact same level twice in the same way. The gunplay is pretty good, the game seems extensive, and it's best enjoyed with friends. The multiplayer is okay, but it doesn't seem like something I would spend too much time in. Just doesn't feel that great. Campaign is cool though.
If you can get 4 people to play with, I would recommend it.

My cousin has been bothering me for over six months to play this with him. I have never paid more than $15 for a game on steam
I like the game. I have a couple friends who play it and we have fun going through levels. The card system is cool and you can spend each run creating new builds to try out. Nightmare (for me) is fairly difficult, so there definitely is a challenge to it. I'd say if you're on the fence, just go ahead and get it. This is a pretty good price for it (if you don't have gamepass as it's on there right now). There is definitely more Xbox players than PS or PC from my experience online.
