Just did. Guess you're right and I stand corrected, thank you.
My apologies for the snarky remark.
Maybe YOU should read. That just means there's one soldered stick. But it's still expandable by adding another stick into the available dimm slot.

"Also the laptop does have additional slot to upgrade the RAM/Memory.

Please refer to this link below for complete specification:

I find this response truly wholesome and I'm proud of you.

We use these at work and I am not a fan of how they are built. The backplate attaches onto the base of the laptop using very delicate plastic clips and the base of the laptop is just 2 flat sandwiched pieces of plastic. The sides of the laptop are only the backplate plastic. Any small drop and I almost guarantee the front will have a permanent gap or the corners will smush. Same design for gen 1 and gen 2. You also have to be very careful when re-assembling for ram upgrades etc.

The one you got is better than this ThinkPad. Only things the ThinkPad has the edge over are the build quality, keyboard, and display brightness.
The display and processor are superior on the Thinkbook. However, you'd hardly notice any performance differences between the two processors.

I'm in the market for a high-performance machine, primarily for work that involves processing large datasets in Excel, graphic design work, off and on video calls all day, and a lot of multitasking in Firefox and other programs. I'm not a gamer, and I know just enough about computers to have a lot of questions — so I have always wondered:
— Am I way off-base in thinking that a lot of machines labeled "gaming PCs / laptops" seem to have specs that would be ideal for my needs?
— Would a gaming laptop be a good choice for a graphic designer or photography editor?
— Say I do take up gaming and continue in my current line of work— would I need two separate machines, one for business and one for gaming?

Thanks in advance to anyone who can provide some guidance here. I haven't figured out who to ask about this stuff and you all seem to have a lot of expertise in these products.
I am pretty much in the same boat as you, and I ordered a similar spec T14s Gen 2 in November with faster processor - $1088 then. The video camera for zoom meetings has some issues when lighting is not perfect/sufficient, and will be low quality — you've been warned (it's fine when lighting is good/strong). This shocked me as I've had no issues like that with my 6 year old T450s. Other than that, everything else is terrific. But, the video camera aspect, particularly in this day, and age, is subpar. Now, it could be a driver issue with Windows 11, which I upgraded to for free.

The "original price" of $2200+ is BS. I've never seen it that high and they probably just put that there so whatever price they put it at, it will always appear you are getting savings.

And who's asking for touchscreen? I think that's just gimmicky and not necessary. I have a Dell laptop that happens to have touchscreen but never use it. Don't need my screen to be a fingerprint magnet!
Why do folks get so worked up about the inflated MSRP? Does it really matter what it says? Evaluate the laptop for what it is for the price being offered and ignore/let go of the MSRP. IT DOESN'T MATTER.

In no world is that laptop going to retail for $2200 or even close to that.

So what? It could say the original prices was 6 billion and it would not matter.

I think the answer to your question is yes you could.

There are (as I see it) 2 laptop categories. There are the gaming laptops and then the there are the lighter portable laptops.

The gaming laptops have those snazzy dedicated GPUs with gaming experiences comparable to the desktop PCs with dedicated GPUs. The tradeoff is a significantly heavier device, thicker, often louder fan noise, and a battery that doesn't last as long too. But the games play great!

Alternatively, the ultra light portables are for those who want the lightweight option, and thin, making it very portable, typically with an interated gpu+cpu, and often cost less. These are targeted to everyday users (99% ?) with maybe some light gaming. They are typically much lighter and thinner than gaming laptops.

The conundrum is that modern APUs (integrated) have gotten very good with graphics and thus work well with the ultra laptops. They say not to the level of a dedicated card, but the reality is they are very good, and if you want the best of the best graphics rendering you shouldn't be gaming on any laptop unless the cost of doing so isn't an issue.

Can't go wrong with the Ryzen 5650U. It should have the latest Zen3 from AMD, anything faster will likely get throttled down anyway in this laptop.

I know in these days sometimes if you need it now, these are deals, but this does not seem like a deal.

t14s with ryzen 7s, 1gb drives, 16+ ram were on sales for ~$150 more just a month ago. With ryzens 9 more prevalent and next gen coming out soon, I bet these 5s (and similar intels) go on sale for less.
I had ordered a T14s on Dec 31st, 24gb ram, Ryzen7 5850u, 1tb ssd, 4k display.
Yes it was nice but display was overkill and couldn't even get brightness to go full dark so battery life was not good. Returned it and ordered this model now.
Also grabbed the 14" Ideapad 5 Pro 2k display from Costco, the IPS screen is amazing so far and loving it. Downgraded from win11 to win10 as it seems there is a link issue with win11 and it loses connection randomly after 20-35minutes of idle
Windows 10 running much better, I hope they fix Win11 or I will just use Linux

I ordered this deal and have a T14 just realized it does not have a port to directly connect internet wire. Any idea how I resolve this?
