Going to Aruba for many years, I have never seen that. I guess if you stay at a hotel near the port that could happen. This hotel is far from the port.
My plan is to drink $301 worth of mimosas to offset the tax
25.5% tax, holy shit

One thing I remember about Aruba from visiting many years ago is that the beaches are not private. So most days, when a cruise ship docked, it would shuttle all of its guests to different hotel beaches around the island. So you'd get this massive influx of drunk people onto otherwise peaceful beaches that didn't have many people. Really made the experience less enjoyable.

Seems weird to complain about drunk people potentially crashing your beach when the headline feature of this deal is "Unlimited Mimosas". I got the sense that this deal is actually targeting the drunk people

OK, that's great to know. Here are some reviews for the exact property I stayed at which support what I'm saying:

https://www.tripadvisor.com/Hotel...ml#REVIEWS

"The people from the cruise ships occupied the front row beach umbrellas as not cost and no one tells them to leave."

"On the packed beach yesterday, a family came off a cruise ship, arrived at the Hilton and then, without paying for a private pelota (thatched roof on a pole along the beach) in the hilton registered guest beach area (which cost hotel guests $40 -$55 to rent for the day) , parked themselves under same. Then they took another hilton hotel guest's chaise lounge to sit on."

Maybe this property doesn't have that problem -- I really have no idea -- but whenever people go to aruba, I think they need to carefully read reviews for this issue. I would never have known about it myself. In places like Cancun, it is a non-issue because the beaches are private.

Please note the Additional hotel-specific charges: 25.5% tax and $3.50 per night environmental levy are not included and will be paid directly to the hotel.

The beaches shouldn't be private or you would have fighting with the locals

It's an island. You can have both private and public beaches. Locals don't want to hang out with tourists anyways.

For others wondering, this hotel is not on the beach. So for those saying they would wish for private beaches, you wouldn't be allowed on it.
