Because paying that $150 mount gets you the same results as this one.. 😂😂
If it makes you feel better, I'll sell you one for $300.
I have gotten cheaper mounts like this one in the past. As long as its metal and is secure, I dont really see where the justification of such an increase in price comes from.

I personally think its like monster HDMI cables. They will try to sell you the cable/mount where you buy the tv, but you can buy one that is exactly the same quality for a fraction of the price. At the end of the day its just 3 pieces of metal engineered to hang a TV on. Add the fact that most new TVs these days are super thin/light, any mount should suffice as long as its installed properly.

It's a mount. Does what it says it does.

It's worth noting that those screws on the bottom that 'lock' the tv to the mount are pretty much impossible to tighten once the tv is mounted. It's a small drawback of the low profile design but usually inconsequential.

Unless I'm doing it wrong, the only way to tighten them once the tv is up would be with a really long screwdriver, longer than many homeowners would have on-hand, I assume.

Yes just get a few extensions to reach those hex bolts

Just try to position before you actually get the bracket with the TV on

I got one like this last year for like 11$ it does the job but almost impossible to plug in hdmi plugs if the ports are on the back facing down. I would suggest plugging everything in before hanging it up

I recently bought a similar one from Perlesmith (Amazon) that coincidentally is on Lightning Deal at the moment for $15.29. I paid $22 a few weeks ago.

Only holds up to 115#, so not quite as burly, and only 16" wide so you need regular stud spacing. But very pleased with it, and it comes with spacers if you want it a wee bit further off the wall for access.

Probably came from the same factory Wink

Coming here to make the same analogy to Monster cables or YETI coolers. I'm always amazed at how much wall mounts cost at regular retail stores. I guess some people still subscribe to the idea of "I spent a thousand on a tv, I need to spend a hundred on a wall mount!"

You hit it dead on. My Father-In-Law did exactly like that. He bought a nice TV five years ago that was 2k'ish. Salesman talked him into buying everything else that likely added another 2k+ to it. Monster HDMI, Sound System, Shelf, Fancy Remote, etc, which was all unnecessary or could have gotten elsewhere for a fraction of the price he paid.
