they arent an authorized retailer per turbotax, if that matters to anyone. some reviews from a few years ago had people saying the site kept charging their card. if you decide to use them, id recommend using a virtual # with a limit on it.

Amazon had it at $54.99 for a while last couple weeks and I am sure it'll go back on sale again. I'd rather wait for Amazon's deal than using some fishy website.

I have to agree here, I have seen it at 55 for a while back on amazon
I remember deluxe level had the cheap + 10 gift card deal from amazon in the past- I am not sure if premier level had something similar, like 55 + 10 gift card in the past? I am looking for something like this..

Frys.com used to be a good place, but I found recently that they have permanently been closed- yikes

For everyone, suggest you set up a deal alert in slickdeals for keyword "turbotax." Almost every year in late December Amazon runs a turbotax promo for the coming year. For tax year 2021, there was one on Dec 29, 2021 for the same price, and this was sold by Intuit on Amazon.

Excellent advice. This is exactly what I do. I have two deal alerts set to watch both, one for 'turbotax' and another for 'turbo tax'

Fine print: Only federal e-filing is included in this. It includes 1 state return, but that does NOT include e-filing for that state! If you want to e-file your state return, that's an extra forty bucks.

Why would a person download the program/(buy a disc in years past)? What is the benefit over just using the website?

Be aware this license is only for the Desktop version, you can't use it for the Online version. If you have dealt with crypto, the Online version is MUCH easier to file with (lets you import CSV file of you transactions for example). The Desktop version cannot do that. FYI.

I just think it's misleading, the way they present it. It says on the front "Federal + State". It would be reasonable to assume that means you get the whole shebang for both federal and one state, right? But you're only getting 'full' support (including e-file) for federal.
