Paying $600-$700 for the video card.

These computers are on eBay or Craigslist for like $300-$400, because miners buy them and just want the video card.

Gamers also do these deals to get a card at a reasonable price for their self-built systems.

I would have been in on this had I not just bought one of those 8940s without the video card.

As someone who has bought a Dell 8940 and a HP TG-2260XT for their GPUs, it honestly isn't worth it. These prebuilds have alot of issues that you need to spend money for to make them decent. This for example, you need to buy an actual CPU cooler and upgrade the ram to 16gbs along with adding a small back fan to help with airflow. The motherboard itself locks the max speed the ram actually runs at to something like 2666-2930 mhz. There is very little room to upgrade parts either.

I bought a Dell 8940 and it works just fine. Did upgrade the amount of memory and add a 2nd hard drive, but not everyone needs more.
The DDR4 memory speed is simply 2666MHz the max the Intel CPU supports (10th gen. 11th officially works with 3200MHz), and it works fine as is for this and MANY other basic motherboards. It is possible to do better with motherboards that support extreme memory profiles (memory overclocking), but not everyone needs it.
No they're not for everyone, but had extra value in the last couple of years with GPU shortages and higher prices. Not as much reason to buy one today, but still not a bad deal when on sale IMO.

These OEM gpus are built kind of cheaply, I bought the 2060 super deal they had last year and I am already having issues with it. Prices on gpus have been coming down. Was able to grab a 3060 from my local MicroCenter for around $450 recently.

Wait for a deal on a pre-built with a 12th gen Intel CPU and DDR5 RAM, much better value there.

Anyone has experience with Dell's Return policy? Reading on their website, it says that they can charge 15% restocking fee. Does that mean they can at their discretion?

Same specs but $20 cheaper: https://deals.dell.com/en-us/memb...etail/cyjx

I'm not a gamer but would like a new PC. Would it make sense for me to sell the card and just put a regular card in there?

Sure you can with some things to keep in mind
1- OEM GPU usually fetch less money
2- it will cost you more than you think for replacement regular GPU card
3- gpu market availability is improving
4- you can buy non Gaming PC for much less. Look on Craig's list and FB market place.

You don't need a separate graphics card. It has UHD 730 on the i5

Buy a PC with a card like 1650 instead unless you are willing to go through the hassle of selling this card and buying a card for the right price. Miners need the card so they buy this and sell the PC without the card. If you don't need it, there is no reason to buy this.
