Aside from the addition of display port on the Acer vs LG, the Acer also has downfacing connections and also appears to have built-in power supply, and only needs a standard power cord and not a bulky external power brick. Both handy options especially when mounting these on monitor arms.

I post every time this monitor is posted - these monitors won't melt your eyeballs with brightness, but they are very nice for the money (working on one right now). I think they could maybe be a little cheaper on sale now given their age, but still a very solid option for the price.

The box you mean? Costco should be able to exchange without the box as long as you have all the accessories. At least they have for the large TVs that I've had to return due to defect.

Id say the LG does since it has HDR and this Acer makes no mention of it. Not sure how brightness compares but I have the LG and I am pleased with it.

I would NOT consider the built in speaker a feature on this guy. I use this every day for work and the speaker is worse than putting my Bluetooth earbuds on the desk and listening from there. I don't know that the LG is a worse choice here as long as the specs are similar for refresh and resolution.

Was very tempted to try this as I just changed jobs and have to procure my own monitor with a stipend, but there are a surprising number of 1 and 2 star reviews on Costco's page that indicate serious quality issues with dead pixels, ports, etc.

Been using one since the previous time the price dropped to $200. Just ordered 2 more. Dead pixels can happen on any brand, but buying from Costco means I don't have any worry about any defect. 10 minute drive to the local Costco where there's never any replace/refund hassle. These will go fast.
