Great budget printer. We use about 10 of them at my business for general low-res printing (forms, receipts, etc). Got tired of paying $$$ to repair expensive office printers, figured I'd go with throwaway ones and hope for the best. Surprise - they just keep going and going! After hard use I've only had 1 crap out.

Good call for saving money. These little Brothers have a published duty cycle of 10,000 pages per month max, so they're reliable workhorses for their size and price. At 2400x600 DPI the resolution isn't bad either. Super cheap to own as well, when using aftermarket toner cartridges.

if you have a raspberry pi not doing anything, you can setup CUPS and use this printer wired/wireless depending on your pi.

Got a refurbished Brother 2740DW 5 years ago from Staples for $79 and it looked brand new, with the drum and toner cartridge brand new and wrapped in sealed plastic. Still going strong but although I do not print much I do a lot of scanning.
