For a $5 difference, depends whether it's an upscale from 2k or 2.5k, and whether they remastered and made the whole bloody thing ugly (that has been surprisingly common IME).

Easy answer: find a youtube video searching for Planet of the Apes 4k vs. 1080

Well you have to understand how it was shot(upscaled or native) doesn't really tell you how well it will look, how well the movie is transferred will.

Only the 3rd one received an "Atmos" update and nothing special over BD.
PQ transfer on all three wasn't that great either, especially if you have a good player.

If you really like the movies or you haven't bought the BD version, $5 extra might be worth it.

No, because with the 4k version you get a free copy of the $20 Blu Ray. So you're paying $5 for an upscaled 4k copy. Good deal
