Does anyone know if this will fit the Hitachi/Metabo km12vcm router? I can't find anything regarding the diameter of the motor.
I have a Woodpeckers lift that I have a Dewalt router motor in. I bought a Hitachi to replace it and it was too small.

An important thing to consider is not just having a secure place to mount a router. To be truly functional you want a router table that has an adjustable fence, possibly with a dust collector connected near the bit. Also an aluminum track for a sliding miter gauge. The gauge is very useful if making your own cabinet door stiles and rails. Just mounting the router upside down in a bench isn't everything.

Is anyone able to give a short review? Is this high quality or considered more entry level? Good for someone just starting?

and would you use this in a or bought table or make your own?
thanks!
I have a Bosch 1181 router table and honestly I'd probably build one instead of buying one if I was starting over again. A scrap corian chunk from a kitchen shop would probably do nicely. Or a piece of mdf and a scrap of laminate. I would've been much better off building it and buying a lift like this with the money.

While this is a great deal, if you have a matching Bosch router and don't mind it mounted, just order the router plate from the Bosch benchtop router from any online repair site.

I picked up that genuine Bosch part for around $30 and built a sliding router table extension for my table saw that uses its fence as well.

Damn, I'm guessing this won't fit the Ridgid models? I think the Ridgids have a 3"5/8ths motor.

Hard to find ones that fit these, I think Lee Valley Tools is the only place I've seen selling a 3 5/8ths lift. $230 though...

But no mention to which SawStop router top this is (PCS vs ICS)
Both will have the same opening as both take the same SS router lift. And yes, it is the "standard" size (9.25" x 11.75"). Screw holes won't line up as noted in the video, 'cause SawStop. Not a huge deal, 'cause gravity. Also pretty easy to drill new holes, 'cause woodworking tools. Smilie (and yes, I know it is painful to have to drill into $150+ worth of brand new tool)

FWIW I have the Bosch 1617 hung below a Kreg insert in my PCS extension table. Even though it "kinda" already has a lift mechanism in the fixed base, it is so klunky to use in practice that I find myself making excuses not to use the router table. Super hard to adjust. Changing bits requires bent wrenches since it doesn't even come close to lifting the collet above the base. Fingers crossed this will be better.

Which Grizzly wing do you have? I have the T1244 on my Ridgid R4512 and it has an odd sized plate - 12-1/8" x 9". I looked everywhere for non-Grizzly plates of that size and struck out. I bought a spare PT1244008 plate from Grizzly, but had to wait months for it to be in stock first.
That's the wing I have, and you're right it is an odd size unfortunately. I was mistaken though, grizzly does now have router lifts, but they're $350 and $550.

Or just get a router table setup for the same price and use the plate then you will also have a portable table option

watched a few videos on the lift and I saw one guy put it in the SawStop table saw extension. Good question as I think the size is similar to others but I've read the radius of the corners is not the same on all lifts which can present fitment issues in certain tops
If only you owned a power tool that could change the profile of a cutout in a flat surface.

Would I be better off buying this or the Bosch 1181 and just ripping base off and installing the top in the wing/extension of my table saw (Ridgid R4520, yes it fits)?

Background: New to wood working, recently got the Ridgid R4520 and Bosch 1617 router. Know I want to install router in wing of table saw due to space constraints, either would work but see the Bosch 1181 as a potentially simpler and more complete solution. Just don't know what I'm actually better off with. Recommendation's appreciated, thanks.

If you're happy with the height adjustment mechanism of your router, then you don't need this lift - this just does it better.

You'd need a router table/top either way - either DIY to custom fit or store bought.
