I do professional microsoldering and game console repair and just wanted to add my input here. A generic charger which operates at the normal 5v USB standard is OK for use to charge the switch and switch lite. As for fast chargers ONLY the original Nintendo charger should be used. The USB PD protocol used by the switch appears to be non standard. If used with a regular USB PD or QC charger it may cause the M92T36 charge controller to short out, depending on that particular chargers implementation of USB PD. Even though this charger is advertised as designed for the switch I personally wouldn't use anything but an original charger, as I see dozens of these consoles come in every month for this exact issue and wouldn't take the risk.
5v @ 3A = 15W charger? like qc2.0? i understand it's officially licensed and includes a non-detachable cable, but i feel like at this point faster chargers are a dime a dozen (not literally) and work just as well? no affiliation here, just one of the top search results is this 30W with a type c qc/pd3.0 and 2.4A port and includes a 6' type c to type c cable, for ~$.50 more than this deal https://smile.amazon.com/dp/B094V5M8YB
I have read that non-Nintendo brand chargers can brick your Switch. Does anyone know if this one is safe? I mean, it is licensed so you'd think it would be, right?

There were many reports in the past with the original switch that 3rd party chargers could kill a PD charging chip rendering the device essentially "bricked" unless the chip was replaced or you had other means to charge the battery in a other device.
For these reasons, I'm in for a spare for the hacked switch.

I thought it was the 3rd party docks that caused issue

Good point though don't the two port mobile chargers usually split the W between ports? I have a low price profile usb a/c two port, drops c down when anything is even plugged into qc A. Guessing that's at best 18w & port 20w but not simultaneously. Newer PD 3 model's usually allow both ports same time. Anyway this def is no deal.

I have never used the Nintendo charger since I have a Samsung phone and it's been fine for years.

I have a switch that I got shortly after they were released and have used multiple non-nintendo chargers (Apple, Chargic, Anker) and have never had an issue charging it FWIW

I agree with you as long as it isn't a very specific use case--attaching the switch to a dock of some kind in the car. Only use officially licensed power bricks and chargers any time you use a dock (official or third party). If you just need it to be charged, there are many options. I bought this because I don't have any convenient USB charging ports.

Good grief..I now have to worry which charger to buy so some chip inside the console won't dry . hmmm…
I am an Anker fan, been buying their products a very long time. I bought the OLED switch during the holidays and have been using the original charger so far. I was shopping for something for travel purpose when I visit friends with kids. Ok. I guess I will look for the original charger and drag that with me.
