Part memoir and part investigative report, Eating Animals is the groundbreaking moral examination of vegetarianism, farming, and the food we eat every day that inspired the documentary of the same name.

Bestselling author Jonathan Safran Foer spent much of his life oscillating between enthusiastic carnivore and occasional vegetarian. For years he was content to live with uncertainty about his own dietary choices but once he started a family, the moral dimensions of food became increasingly important.

Faced with the prospect of being unable to explain why we eat some animals and not others, Foer set out to explore the origins of many eating traditions and the fictions involved with creating them. Traveling to the darkest corners of our dining habits, Foer raises the unspoken question behind every fish we eat, every chicken we fry, and every burger we grill.

Part memoir and part investigative report, Eating Animals is a book that, in the words of the Los Angeles Times, places Jonathan Safran Foer "at the table with our greatest philosophers" -and a must-read for anyone who cares about building a more humane and healthy world.

Some people eat people. So be careful who you ask about that.
P.S. Can I borrow a cup of Fava beans? Asking for a friend with a nice chianti, and a liver recipe. He said he wants me over for supper.

My wife is pretty much a vegetarian, for moral and ethical reasons.

I don't like to eat anything with a face, for "that's gross" reasons. So as long as my food is not looking back at me, I'm okay.
I also don't like watching informative documentaries about those moral, or ethical issues. Ignorance is tasty. So I have to pass on this book.

Intentional ignorance is a euphemism for malice. If you know that looking more deeply into something would turn you off from it, it's an insult to your own intelligence to carry on with it anyway.

Lol. Trying to shame me. Just being honest. I thought everyone was at least woke enough to know that meat is murder by now. Some, including myself, still may not know (or want to know) every little gory detail, and I would not begrudge them for that like you do.
Peace

Come on mods! How many more of these posts do we need to see before talking to the OP. They are clogging up the iTunes, Amazon, etc. keywords alert and clogging up the hot deals forum. Maybe just create an ebooks only forum if we let it continue.
