Pros:
  1. The only Luna white Alienware you can get, M15 r5, r6, r7 is Dark chassis w/ Black keyboard. x15 is white chassis w/ black keyboard.
  2. miniDP port, Alienware Graphic Amplifier port(removed from lateral generations).
  3. Frontal speaker cutouts, better sound quality.
  4. RTX 3070 is 140w on r4, might came with Samsung vram, while r5-r7 are mostly Micron and only 130w.
  5. Vapor Chamber cooling on CPU, better than current r5-r7's normal cold plate.
  6. per Key RGB vs mostly 4-zone RGB on r5-r7, secondary function key light.
Cons:
  1. Soldered memory
  2. No Optimus, battery will be a issue.

Cool story... this is an R4 which is way better at keeping cool. It also runs the 3070 at a higher wattage than the R5 and 6. The R5 and up are considered a failure where as the R4 is highly regarded.

Getting 100+ fps at 1440p on a mobile platform would difficult at best for a 3070 with mid to high settings. Where at 1080p the 3070 absolutely performs flawlessly and can typically push put 50-100% more frames than at 1440p with the same settings.

Also at 15.6in screen size odds are you are scaling non gaming apps to read/use everything unless you're holding your monitor as close as a tablet/phone.

The 1080p 360hz monitor has a faster refresh rate and better input lag, so when gaming it will be the better screen performance wise. 1440p is fine for watching movies and streaming but in almost every other content it's typically not worth the performance hit for the crispness of 1440p.

Yeah all these 360hz and 300hz 1080p displays are basically pointless very few games you can actually run at 300hz+ a QHD 144Hz+ screen is definitely a better choice but for whatever reason Alienware loves 1080p displays.

Nope, there are 3 kinds of keyboard: 4-zone RGB, per Key RGB and per Key RGB mechanical.
This one came with per Key RGB. Perfect fit for white keycap since 4-Zone key have very dim brightness on white keycap.

I can't tell if this is the exact one I ordered because mine is mostly white, but it came with Samsung memory. I think originally there were 2 threads on this and the other was a white version.
