Fantastic set, really can't go wrong. Even includes 1/4 and 1/2 inch collets. Shocked to see a centering cone but this is a complete kit. Not sure if price is right.

This is a great set, and the D-handle makes fixed routing easy. However, this is not a good motor for a router table. I went through 3 before buying a Makita just for the table.

Debating between this and the metabo fixed from lowes deal last week for 75ish…thinking if I end up needing the plunge base this might be a better deal.

Eghh... Dewalt has the worst routers out there amongst the Big Box Names. Bosch is still running the mid-size, and makita wins the full and compact sized. (Bosch takes 2nd in full size, and would take 1st in compact, but the idiots at Bosch don't seem to want to release their cordless palm router yet. It's been perfected for over a year now, after 5 years of prototype and testing. The people making decisions at Bosch NA are complete idiots. They have insanely innovative stuff that they've tested but they just don't release.)

Just curious. I have the 616 kit w/o d-base which physically the same minus electronically control speed and has less hp. What makes this motor not good for a router table? I have the 616 mounted on a Bosch table and don't really see any problem. Thinking about getting for a while but price has not always been friendly to budget.

I believe it is the way the motor is set up that it fills with dust when turned upside down. There have been other discussions on SD that have the same conclusion. I vacuumed out the motor after each use and use dust collection but it never seemed to help. If you can afford a motor to dedicate for the table I would get it.
