I'm still dialing it in but it's a heck of an upgrade over my old lg 55". The 4k and hdr is absolutely breathtaking, truly couldn't be happier.
Some would definitely argue that for the money, get an oled. But after reading great reviews and some downsides to oled with burn-in, I opted for this TV. Setup was super easy, Google interface is super fast and works flawlessly.
For anyone that gets it, highly recommend watching the 4k new top gun movie trailer on YouTube, spectacular!

Rtings says this :
"The Sony X95J is slightly better than the Sony X90J. The X95J has much better reflection handling, better viewing angles, and a better local dimming feature. The X95J is also much brighter, and small highlights stand out better in HDR. The X90J, on the other hand, has better native contrast and better black uniformity, with less cloudiness in dark scenes."

So in my opinion, the X95J is not worth spending $400 more for.

But yes, Sony has said that all their 2022 TV's will have VRR working right out of the box. Though on their website it still says they'll receive them via a firmware update
