There is a video interface board out apparently, so you can mod these now.

It's hard to see the big picture with such a small screen.

I think the marvel super heroes 2 would be best to use for parts to modify this or make another cabinet. That has the most buttons to use

8" screen.

EIGHT INCH SCREEN! My iPad is larger than that and the iPhone 13 Max Pro is 6.7". Some on. 8" is too small.

Can you play these on an external display?

I think they know that most of their target audience are on to bifocals by now anyways. And no, I don't believe so— at least not without modification and this doesn't strike me as a good base to start.

Enable big head mode on NBA Jam and it'll take up too much space on the tiny screen!

I feel like you're better off getting a board and hooking it up to your television. It's just way too small. Unless, this is really for children.

Yes, because only older gamers are into retro gaming (insert eyeroll). Stay ignorant.
I'm sorry to have offended you. I was just joking. 🙄
I didn't say that we older gamers were the only ones to play older games. I was (again, jokingly, but I should've made that more clear) referring to marketing/target audience, and I think it would be more ignorant to try and make the argument that these aren't marketed towards the ages that originally played them when they first came out in the arcades (my generation I guess). But I'm no expert 🤷
I will say that I've used the mk2 countercade and they are very toy-like. Feels like the same controls as the 3/4 cabs but the screen is, as you say, unusably small— even with my bifocals on. I know people like the art on them and see them as a good substitute when they don't have the room for the 3/4 cab, but I don't think they are worth it unless you just want a novelty item for your bar top. I like the partycades more but the selection isn't great I don't think. Granduppah below says you get used to them so in all fairness I should mention that I spent maybe 5 minutes on one and I don't suppose that's a fair shot.

It's not bad. Like any small screen, you get used to it fast. Very clear and crisp, view from any angle. USB slot on the side.
