This links to a model with 256 GB of storage, not the 512 listed.

Yep some models even go to 500 but this one is 300 nits. I have a 400 nit Thinkpad at home at its pretty bright for indoor use and acceptable outdoor.

The model the OP is referencing is Part Number 20XK0015US. If one uses WELCOME20 code first and then T14G2AMDDEALS, drops the price down to $824.99. IDme discount for me (senior) lowers it down to $782.74, and then the 12% cashback would have this below $700.

What do folks think about purchasing an extended warranty/on-site service contract through Lenovo?

Website says sign up to unlock another hundred. So about 750. And another thing for 12% cash back. I don't know anything about Lenovo but you guys seem to like the thinkpads and this appears to be a very solid deal.

I can tell you I bought the ext warranty for my last two dells and needed it both times. A new lcd panel for my old Inspiron and a whole new motherboard /proc for my newer one. Both of them lasted a long time after that one repair each.

Are you allowed to combine id.me and cb discounts? Last time I tried (combine employer discount with cb), the cb was denied.
