It's the slim form factor that attracts more.

I'm not sure these are deals or not... Looks like almost usual prices..
1. 3070 is 110w TGP, 90w base + 20w dynamic boost, when cpu use more than 30w power, gpu tends to throttle around 100w.
2. 3070 is micron vram, less efficient and power hungry than Samsung
3. It's too thin, the thermal is not good even with 4 fan. my old m15 r4 is quieter.
4. memory is 1Rx16 and soldered, can't even replace to 2Rx8 to boost performance like others.
It's a thin laptop, but very heavy and large in width and height. I don't quite understand what would help if make a laptop so thin but still need a 16-17 inch bag to fit.
The x15 uses a 110W 3070 vs a 130W M15 R6. You'll notice weaker gpu performance.
Also if they keep churning out new versions older ones will drop faster. these x17 r1s were full price only 4 months ago, even a week ago on ebay a few sold north of $3500 with same/lower specs than the $2988 one above. one of the new x17 r2 just sold yesterday for $4200.
