I got a 3080i on best buy yesterday but im still not sure its worth picking up? $1549 plus tax.

Get an HP with 3090 in it for $2500 then sell the PC minus GPU for $500.
Net $2000 for 3090 here.
And even that should get many thumbs down as overpriced.

they have been though. take a look even at ebay. a 3080 a couple months ago in december ish could not be bought for less than $1.8K. now they are down to $1.4K and thats ebay. If you shop around abit and you're patient u could snag them for abit cheaper.
I doubt we will ever see them at the "old" msrp but pricing will continue to drop.

I've been tracking GPU prices for 18 months, I know they have gone up and down. They are nowhere near reference MSRP.

yeah well gpu msrp is a funny concept but if you're hoping for a readily available $700 rtx 3080 founders I doubt that it will ever happen. At this point, if you waited this long ,you may be better off forgetting about a 30 series and look toward next gen
