Seems like a silly design as the bulk and weight of this precludes fine detailed work. They should have split this into 2 parts, the soldering iron and a base with the battery, connected by a longish cable. I could use a new soldering iron and am sold on M12, but not this.

This is not designed for precision soldering.

I've had this for a couple of years now.. has come in handy on a couple of occasions for automotive electrical work. Heats up quicker than I expected it to. Definitely not for precision soldering work, but does a good job for its intended purpose.

Note that this is designed for typical copper pipe soldering and auto soldering, not hobbyist soldering. There is no temperature selector or base that I've seen.
