I have a surface pro 6 and I hate it! So many minor glitches makes it a big blunder.

Is that why US government bans certain companies from China in their supply list?
Just because it isn't happening, doesn't mean it can't happen nor does it mean the capability isn't there, but not used yet. I get that it is something people feel is far fetched, and I agree. That's because most people haven't dealt with this sort of thing.
I'm part Chinese, and I know well how these governments operate. I ain't touching it.
Also that attitude is unnecessary and comes across as juvenile....
It means that from the factory, this Chinese company can load whatever software they want onto your computer. So if they wanted to put spyware, they could. They just have to write it into some agreement that nobody reads, but agrees to. Heck, they technically don't even have to do that.
It's a level of trust.

We are looking for deals. We are losers without any useful information for any government. no one cares how many p0rn you watched. politic is just waste of time here.
Do not overestimate yourself.
I'm not comfortable with it, I don't expect everyone else to be concerned about it, but I do wish people would take that risk more serious instead of assuming it will never happen just because it's been good so far.
If you are okay with that risk, then more power to you.
The other point is that, the past need not be a predictor of the future. Has happened, doesn't mean it will happen again. Hasn't happened, doesn't mean it can't happen in the future.
