The lower the number of the gauge of the jumper cables ,in this case "4", the better/
Cheaper cables are usually "10" or "8"--but may fail/be too weak in cold weather
Cables "6" gauge are recommended
Cables "4" gauge are excellent.

The Lithium-compact sized cables are great but need maintence to keep charged.
Always good to have an old fashioned set of jumper cables.

No. They don't. Manufacturers don't include jumper cables standard with a new car purchase.

Have not used my jumper cables since I got one of the Gooloo Jump Starters. Not even sure where cables are any more, in a box somewhere. Jump Starters worked so well I bought another for other car.

Also these do not say copper, probably CCA.

I feel certain you are correct. Ampacity of aluminum is much less than copper.

None of mine did. Heck, I had to pay $150 extra for the spare tire.

Maybe a high end Mercedes or something. Most cars do not come with cables unless you bought them separately. Also important to note than most hybrids and EVs cannot jump another car per design

A lot of high end Euro cars come with full breakdown kits in the trunk, often a warning triangle and even a day-glo vest.

I used to think this was a luxury thing, then I realized it was just those companies being honest about their cars Wink

Jumper cables AND jump boxes both have their place. Personally I don't like storing Li-ion batteries in the car with all the hot weather it would have to face. But I definitely have them at home and take them on road trips. But cables stay in the car 24/7.

You are correct. I saw a review that said they were copper clad aluminum. Pass.

I hand-selected these MAXX 4 gauze cables to over 100-300 customers over many years including myself. Never received a complaint.
The cheaper 10 gauge cables? Often in those auto emergency bags---stay very away.
8, borderline cheap
6--acceptable
4 like these. tow truck strength

The wild card is like everything, everything made is being made 'less'.

Would go with 4
Maxx is a Walmart brand line they makes very good auto products.

edit:, opps, no longer work 'there'

My 2020 Honda Pilot had a dead battery from the kid not turning off the push button correctly when listening to music. This crap car CANNOT be jump-started without removing the air intake! I thought it was a joke. Joke's on me. I'm sure there's more poison pills in this sucker as it ages.

I'd flip it for something else if the market wasn't crazy. #causecovid
