I have a Chase CC and it worked for my Starbucks Chase offer, so It should also work for AMEX offer.

As long as you check out using PayPal it should be fine. I don’t think it would make a difference what the preferred payment method is in PayPal (cc, debit, bank acct) as long as you check out with PayPal.

Credit card doesn't matter as long as you use PayPal

I don't think it matters which credit card is used, as long as it is a PayPal transaction.
PayPal charges you $10, gives a $5 credit, and your Starbuck's account is loaded with $10.

You can reload exactly $10 instead of ordering items directly and it will work so you don't spend more than you have to

I reloaded exactly $10 to my card and it worked perfect.

A perfect $10 is only needed.
You can reload more than $10 but you only receive a $5 credit.

Yes, you just have to unlink one PP account and then add another. You can only have one PP at a time on the Starbucks App.

Offer also works combined for the select accounts that received $10 off of 15$ PayPal offer. I received a free $15 Starbucks gift card when I reloaded on Starbucks app using PayPal at checkout.
Be careful. I tried this and it charged me the full $10. I contacted paypal and they ended up treating it like a dispute. They find in my favor and give me back $5.
Starbucks closes my account and confiscates my $60-$70 balance. I'm about 4-5 phone calls in right now and a bunch of facebook posts. Absolutely ridiculous experience. Never again.
Might have been a $5 reward sitting in your PayPal account. I bought $10 and paid $0 too. The extra $5 is a reward for downloading PayPal app and signing in.

Keep us posted. I'm curious what went wrong. I used the Starbucks app for a $50 reload. I paid with PayPal and was charged $45. Before I did all this, I saved the deal in the PP app first. Did you forget to do this step?
Anytime PayPal is involved it's always a sensation akin to walking across thin ice. I have no idea how they still manage to exist given the years and years they have been burning people, acting like a bank but skirting banking regulations, stealing money without recourse, etc. I keep my account open but feel dirty about it. So glad I can pay directly with a CC on eBay now, and only these offers even pique any interest about dealing with PayPal, barely.
