I wouldn't let sharpening fears keep you from buying this knife, assuming you have a decent sharpening tool. Any extra time spent sharpening harder steels will pay off in having to do it less often. If I was going to need 3 minutes on a knife in a softer steel, I might spend 4 minutes with a knife in D2 that was similarly dull. Otherwise it's the exact same process and just takes more swipes.
Out of curiosity, what do you use to sharpening with?

The D2 knives I have are a bit more difficult to sharpen them some stainless blades but they seem to hold an edge much better.
20CV coming my way next week. 😎
2 or 3 years ago they offered many of their knives 50% off approaching black friday, then again on black friday. I got the 'Slinger' I like it. I don't really use it but like picking it up and flipping out the blade. ha. Got the blue one. Blue isn't really my color for a knife, but the blue slinger looks cool with the brass screws. It has some bearings in it that makes it easier to flip out the blade, if I recall correctly.
This deal, the Ledge knife. I question how well it will fit in the hand. The red one looks sorta eddy van halen.
