EXTRA LIMITED WARRANTY FOR THE "SIGNAL JACKET"

NOTE: The "Signal Jacket" is NOT waterproof. Care should be taken to ensure the lights and inside wiring do not get wet. DO NOT launder the jacket with the LED lights and wiring left inside the jacket. GoGo Gear will not be responsible for any damage or defect to the LED lights or wiring in the event the jacket gets wet.

INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS:

Here is a video that shows how the wiring is connected: https://youtu.be/ZnK_nPtp3_k

Please note that all of the wiring needed to connect the bike to your new jacket is included inside the jacket! The only tool you'll need is a crimper. You'll also need some electrical connectors that will be used to hold the wiring in place when you connect the jacket to the bike wiring.

There is a large zipper in the red mesh back of the jacket where the back protector is. If you open that zipper, you'll find the cable that connects the jacket to the bike.

Next, the cellphone pocket will have another cable in it. This is the cable you will use to connect to the lighting wiring on the bike. If you're a DIYer like some people, you take the four wires (one black, white, red and green) and connect them to the various lighting wires. Recommended wiring: use the white wire for the ground, the black wire for the brake light, the green and red lights for the turn signals.

Next, you'll connect the four wires to the four wires on the bike and use a crimping tool to crimp plastic male and female terminal connectors making sure to not crimp it so tight that you cut the wire. Once the wires are connected, you are all set to go!

If you're not a DIYer, you can take the jacket and bike to a knowledgeable friend or your local car or bike shop and they can connect them for you! It can be done really quickly! If you happen to have a copy of the lighting diagram/schematic for your particular bike, that would be incredibly helpful for whomever you get to make the connection for you!

Pretty cool concept, especially for riding at night. Here's a link to an install video from the product page. I wish the connection was a bit more plug-and-play instead of having to strip wires.

Few problems I see with this.

- should've just been something you wear over your jacket
- the wire connection will eventually get pulled off when you dismount, should've been wireless
- Not suitable for riding in the rain

I am older - does this have a setting where I can have the left turn blinker just stay on all the time?

The 3 people that actually ride in the rain probably won't wear this when it's raining.

$50 for an armored jacket w/ back protector? Not bad at all, even if you don't use the lights.

I wonder if that's why they're getting rid of them.

No wireless and no waterproofing seems like a deal killer at msrp.

Umm, you don't ride in the rain, you can get unexpectedly rained in while riding, there is a difference.
If you get rained on, you have the additional hassle of taking it off and stowing it somewhere dry.

As for the price, I'm not okay with cheapening out on safety gear, maybe you are.

In my experience, for safety / technical / winter gear, you get what you pay for and some of the few categories you shouldn't cheap out

This will protect just as well as my Klim jacket in event of a crash. Just because something is expensive, doesn't make it more protective. And with riding/racing for 18 years (that's me in my profile pic), I've trashed $300 gloves in 1 slow crash, and had $100 gloves last for years of crashing on the track.

I thought this might be a jacket to use on regular bike or ebike which would have been cool.

It could be possible for a DIYer to set up a manual trigger (the harness just goes to what are just left-right-stop-neutral), or just wire it up to a lion battery in the inner pocket (LRS up, N down) with a switch to light up the jacket for visibility. Might try this for my eboard, and if it fails i still have a kevlar hoodie for 50 bucks.

If you think a cager will pay attention to signals on this jacket you are sadly mistaken. As for protection I always like to have thick leather between me and the asphalt when I go sliding on it at any speed.

Of course YMMV...

Hey let me know how this goes. I'm thinking of doing the same thing. I have a motorcycle but I don't want a wire sticking out of my seats to make this work.

Also the I have the flexibility of using this was walking or biking lol
