Doordash, Ubereats, etc., prices are so much higher w/fees, etc. By the time you apply the coupon to order, you'll only really save a few bucks from buying directly at store.
So I used the coupon this morning. I live half a mile from Panera, left a $5 tip (25% of my order total) which I thought was a decent amount considering the short distance. My order ended up getting bundled with someone else's. I had ordered frozen drinks and they arrived 30 minutes later, half melted. Kinda ruined my morning and can't even leave feedback. Not sure who to complain to DD or Panera, but this is the worst experience I've had with food delivery.

Who delivers, Doordash? What do they give you if you give them your birthdate ? Is it like most places just one coupon at a time?

It's usually UberEATS when I placed orders before, but I guess it depends on the area. If you give them your birthday, in the past they have offered a free baked good during you birthday month. But my birthday is in March, and I got nothing this time, lol. You can only use one promo code, but multiple rewards. The free coffee club is applied as a reward so you can redeem it at the same time as this promo.

Edit: Just placed an order and it was sent to Doordash.

So I can tip thru the Panera site, even if I'm unsure how much of that tip ends up with Doordash driver. Still feels pretty crappy, I feel like if I ordered no one would even deliver it because it's 5 miles away (10 both ways) and they're only going to get like $3? Honestly what happens then? Never order delivery like ever, I still can't comprehend how these delivery gig workers make any money. Definitely feel like it's scheme to take advantage of uneducated who can't understand costs involved.

They automatically choose $3 tip choice (which you can remove) but that's still far too low. Reading online dasher gets $2-3 + Tip for the job. So my order at most would pay $6 for driver (if I tipped $3). Which I can't even afford to tip, my tip is going to be $2.08...

I'm just NOT going to order, I'd have to reasonably tip $15 just to feel comfortable that I'll even get my order (and as a human being). I'm not going to let someone drive 30 mins + use gas for less than $15+ $2 dash fee.

It's beyond ridiculous that the system even allows orders to be accepted when they exceed so many miles & pay so little.

$35 Billion dollar company, and they don't have an algorithm that calculates payment by the mile OR auto-denies orders that are pure insanity to fulfill? I understand cluster delivery or delivering multiple orders, but even then Doordash doesn't bundle orders automatically does it? Nope definitely not.

We have big data, yet completely fail at properly utilizing it. Just an embarrassment.

You're overthinking it.
Just tip $3 bucks, you'll be fine.
I drive doordash
I don't see the tip, only the total amount
The base rate is $2.25. it goes up slightly if it's a longer drive or the order has been rejected by other dashers.
I don't get out of my car for less than $5 bucks
My usual take is $1 per mile
Obviously, I'm not going to drive 16 mi for a $5 order.
Don't worry about the drive back either. Many times I'll just pick up a doordash if it's on the way to where I'm going, like the beach or something. I'm retired btw
