Been shopping for a monitor and saw this on sale on Costco's site, seems like price is decent enough for a budget 32 inch 4k curved monitor that some might be interested.

Was a FP deal around Black Friday for $5 less using discount program, this doesn't require that.

Am I right in assuming this would be a bad monitor for gaming?

In researching it seems the ideal gaming monitor is a 1440p ips monitor no greater than 27".

It could probably handle light gaming but I imagine you get a lot better bang for the buck buying these 27 inch 2k 144 hz 1 ms monitors that go on sale for $200 fairly often.

Had this monitor for my ps5. It was an awful experience.

I think I saw on spec sheet that this model is not VESA mountable unlike the flat UJ59, possibly because this is curved.

Is this good for photo/video editing? Nothing pro level, just for family pictures.

4k is usually better for movie, shows and video editing because of huge space for time-line.

Va is better for movie and shows because of brighter color.

Curve is better for movie, shows, gaming because it is more immersive.

60hz is bottom for high reaction gaming.

I would not recommend a curve va monitor for editing. Try to get a large flat ips panel with good color accuracy. Or you can edit using the histograms. And use grids for straighting out object on screen.

No. There are aftermarket options but the mount point is low causing some tendency to tilt, depending upon the mount. Some report issues from using adapters and that Samsung won't honor the warranty if it finds out an adapter was used.

This is curved, not regular. I'd purchase if it wsn't curved. Gotta have 2x 4k 32" that is the sweetspot for wfh codercoder IMO.

Curved is annoying as hell. Currently typing this on a 32" 4k LG that is not curved, no idea what Samsung is thinking here.

How bad is downscaling on 4K to 2K vs using a 2K monitor at native of the same size? 4K would be appealing in terms of future proofing but I do feel inclined to buy a monitor that matches the intended resolution of daily use for better overall native clarity. I remember the days of multisync monitors that supported many resolutions and they looked way better than those that looked blurry without multisync out of non native. I don't know how things have progressed. I know with TVs they tend to have upscalers but this isn't same as trying to run a resolution at a fixed scale for doing work.
