I see the 65" for $1199 too. Is there a way to get a *GOOD* extended warranty on these refurbed/microcenter units?

This deal is still alive. There are 4 left of each (55" and 65") at my local Westmont, Illinois MicroCenter. There are some at the Chicago MicroCenter as well. They must be Superbowl returns.

I just picked up a 65" model up for $1,229.99 out the door after getting an additional 5% off for using my MicroCenter credit card and tax. I just set it up and looked it over. The screen is perfect. At first, I thought I saw a dead pixel but it was a tiny piece of styrofoam. There was some very minor wear / scratches on the heavy ass pedestal base weight but that part sits behind the TV and you can't see it anyways. I am very happy with this TV. My Hisense 65" U8G has much more intense brightness but this has some amazingly realistic and dark blacks that an LCD cannot produce.

Also, regarding the MicroCenter warranties available for the 65" model, there were three plans available in the 65" model's price range of $1,100 to $1,399.99:

2-year HDTV Plan (without Screen Protection): $139.99
3-year HDTV Plan (with Screen Protection): $249.99
4-year HDTV Plan (without Screen Protection): $209.99

But I'm not as worried about screen burn-in, after seeing the built-in screensaver pop-up a few times when I walked away. I might just chance it without a warranty, cuz adding the 3-year plan (which makes the most sense) would make the price almost what you can get one of these new at Green Toe for ($1,599 no tax)...

Hey 1982, I saw what you did there. This is all a plot to keep sidewalks and door manufacturers in business building B&M properties!

I sniped a 48CX for $600, actually had a second one for the same price I was tempted to get too. Runs like a champ. Their TV Inventory isn't always accurate to whats on the shelves in the store. The only thing overall was the screw arrangement for the base. Have to really align it to get the screws in just right, that's more of an LG thing. I picture someone returning it because they claimed the screws dont fit.

I bought the 65" refurb when it was posted a few weeks ago.

The TV itself seemed brand new. No noticeable defects/scratches or anything. It seemed to have all the new packaging. The only thing that looked used was the remote. The remote seemed to have some scratches.

I left the TV on for a while after mounting it to the wall, because I got side tracked during the setup process. When I came back, I checked how long the TV has been on (you can check the total screen on time in settings) and it said 2 hours. So I believe if I would have checked it right away, it would have showed just a few minutes.

I've been very happy with the purchase so far.

I bought two "open box" iPads over a year ago from them and they were perfect. Still work fine. I just bought this "refurbished" 65" LG C1 for $1,230 out the door and it was perfect. Get a grip.

I did the same and when I checked it was at the 4 hour mark.

Would they have let you check the total hours while still in the store?

I bought a 77" CX refurb at $1999, came out around $23xx something with the 3 year MC warranty including accidental damage. That's not too great if you look at the very best employee purchase or odd clearance deals, but is pretty good vs. normal sale prices.

The set had a couple minor issues that are not noticeable without being literally a foot away from the screen. Having said that, if it were a new set, I would have taken it back. Being a refurb it's fine and I've never thought about them again after tossing it on the wall. OLED is glorious if you've spent your life being annoyed by bad contrast.

My .02 is do the math with the warranty cost, and decide if the savings is enough to be worth the risk of minor issues and having the haul the thing back. Not that big of a deal on a 55" set you can haul around easily by yourself, but everyone's opinion is different.

This is what I did last night with the 65" model I bought last night. MicroCenter tried to sell me on the warranty at the time of my pickup, but you can still add the warranty for 30 days. First, I wanted to see what the TV looked like after I unboxed it, cuz I could always simply return it. It looked really good so I am keeping it. Also, it only had a couple hours of screen time, which may or may not mean something. But finally, the best warranty from MicroCenter is the 3-year with accidental screen damage protection but it is $250 bucks. I paid $1230 out the door for my TV after tax and 5% off. Paying an additional $250 bucks would make it almost the new price at Green Toe so I may just wing it.

Not sure because I never asked. Mine came in its original box, all sealed up. I saw a few other boxes in the back inventory room that looked the same. Worse case scenario, you have to make a return trip if the TV either looks bad when you get home and unbox it or it has an ungodly number of hours of screen time.

How is the 77" for $1999 not being talked about? this has been the lowest price yet i think? $1999 and $250 for 3 year screen protection thats superior to the other guys' burn-in and regular non-burn in warranties.

CX has been posted several times but I'm starting to see C1 and Sony 80 stock here in MI. Dunno if that deal post is still active or if it got moved to talk.
