Do Samsung appliances still break down all the time?
Well, they do tend to be out ranked for realiability by LG, May Tag, Bosch and Whirl Pool.

YES !
You need to check if this one has the proper drum or a cheap one. It was steel vs some aluminum crap. Many people were reporting problems.
I got a cheap one in my dryer (5400 model). Lasted 2 years after - it completely broke into pieces, Happened to find a replacement on ebay and just tried with a new drum instead of buying a new dryer. It worked.

Now, about the broken drum. I was thinking how to dispose of it. BUT IT ACTUALLY FOLDED INTO SOMETHING THAT CAN FIT INTO A LARGE BAG OF CHIPS. It's that bad.

Mine is electric. All the unnecessary screws are removed so I can quickly replace the heater. Hope you get it...

Samsung fridges in the last 10 years - every other one has the ice machine that doesn't work. Myriad of issues but try to understand this one - the box/case is not sealed properly so the air is coming in from all the sides. Samsung didn't master the technology of plastic, and making the rubber seams. They have issues that were considered solved in 1970s. Not worth discussing more delicate stuff.

Samsung has terrible warranty service and 3 appliances that I've purchased from them, ALL failed right after the 1 year warranty. If you do decide to buy, consider the max extended warranty.

I will never buy Samsung appliances again.

There's an electric one for the same price on samsung's site, if you're looking for one.

We bought our Samsung washer and dryer set in 2015. Never any problems. I guess YMMV?

Out of 6 Samsung appliances bought in the last 3 years only 1 is still working. Samsung is the Yugo of appliances.

I thought it was the other way around. Gas dryer have a vent, that needs to be clean once a year, at least, but people never do it. It can be deadly if left unattended!
