We have the older version (about 2-3 years older?) And it all works except for ONE of the four vest/gun sets as of December last year. It turns on but it won't reload, so we just stick it on the toddler and they're none the wiser. This one is awesome for the colour choices, kids would have liked it a lot!

I bought a similar set of 2 from Target this past Christmas and one of them wouldn't reload out of the box. I emailed the manufacturer and they replied saying they will send me a replacement, but it never came.

In the meantime, after enough gentle jiggling the reloading lever around, it started working again. Will see how long is lasts.

Many complaints on this defect on all the reviews.

I returned mine that I bought over the holidays. One out of the 4 guns did not work, and the user reviews matched my experience. Bad Quality Control. The worst problem is that if someone is hiding behind a table, you can shoot the ceiling and the "laser" will bounce off the ceiling and hit them. My kids cheated a lot and it wasn't fun for me anymore...hahah

I guess Infrared Tag and Infrared X Blaster don't sound as cool, even if they're more accurate.
