How much of a risk is 3rd party dealing through Newegg, considering Linus Tech Tips and Gamers Nexus issues recently?

Refurb TV via third party through Newegg. Might as well go to the casino and put that $500 on red. Not worth the gamble.

Secondipity is legit. I have purchased 6 tvs from them. All came in new open box condition. The the 2 I ordered in December took over a month to be delivered.

Was just going through Chase's policy on their Extended Warranty benefit. Here's what it states:

"Used or pre-owned items (a refurbished item will be covered as long as it has a warranty with it and would not be considered used or pre-owned)."

I'm not sure if Secondpity's '30-day-return-only warranty' would be considered as a warranty or if the TV itself would be considered not used or pre-owned. Anyone have any experience with using CCs for extended warranty on refurbished items?
