I used to post them and so did others. Now the supplies have dried up!
Have the free sites gone away?
I have not gotten anything from Mercury for ever.
OR did people scare away the other posters with all the delete the link/don't delete the link controversy?
And then there is Recyclebank, which IS back in business, but with a small selection.
Anyone know what is going on?
Also, for what it's worth the magazines themselves are shrinking in size. MSL this month was the size of Parade.
So, any thoughts?

Slickdeals injects a referral affiliate redirect/tracking link and it breaks the URL
extra ironic because it was an SD Staffer who posted it :p

No conspiracy theories, please. If something was borked, it was user error (mine) and not Sd's, or anything deliberate on my part.
Thanks for the c/p tip

Pretty confident what I said was completely accurate- do you disagree?
I appreciate having an SD Staff member helping out on the freebie forums (especially as I know it's not a money maker ha
I felt an SD Mod posting helpful link that was the broken by SD automatic referral injector was ironic/funny.
URL redirects and click-tracking isn't an urban legend...it's how this site makes its money.

Magazines the New York and The Atlantic don't seem to need to offer free subscriptions anymore. I think the fascinating political environment brought them new readers. I sure would like a free The Atlantic subscription but they seem nowhere to be found.
Rolling Stone was giving away free subscriptions left and right for several years. My personal hunch is that they were looking for buyer and wanted to inflate subscription rates. However, now that it is under new ownership there are paywalls. But at least Matt Taibbi is gone and their content is starting to approach the quality it was once known for.
