Plenty of boomer here that like to rip on Chromebooks, I really like this particular Chromebook. The Snapdragon 7c is FAR BETTER than the usual MediaTek 8183, Intel 4020, or AMD 9220C that you usually see at this price. Matter of fact, if you look at PassMark, the Snapdragon 7c is as fast as the more expensive Intel N5030, and even the Ryzen 3 3250C which needs a heatsink and fan, while the Snapdragon 7c is passively cooled like a smartphone. The 1080p IPS touchscreen, and build quality are also very good at this price. I've bought three of these for the family when they were $190 and they've all arrived looking brand new.

I personally don't miss Windows while using it. I use it for school or while out of the house. I mostly use the Chrome browser anyway for MS Office, Canvas, Zoom, Spotify, YouTube, Netflix etc.

I haven't done much with the Android app capabilities except for PSP and Nintendo DS emulation.

Yeah this is a solid machine, especially for the price. Bought one for MIL, and for everything she does with it, it's perfect. If I needed to replace my surface pro today, I'd probably even get one for myself- any time I need the extra power I could just remote into my desktop and do what I need there.

There us an extra 12% off on ebay that comes with 2 year ebay 2 year warranty. Depending on your state, my tax on ebay comes up to be more than 180 by about 4 dollars. But worth it for warranty imo.

I have used the 713 for the last year and have few complaints. This is basically the same as the more expensive model.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hUH6rJVvNCw

Definitely not the same. This has essentially a midrange smart phone chip for a CPU verses an proper Intel i5, the 713 has double the ram and the screen on the 713 is higher resolution, better aspect ratio and higher quality. This 513 is decent for the price but the 713 is a far better product.

Finally pulled the trigger after doing extensive research. A lot of problems have been fixed with software updates since it's release. The CPU on it is more snappier and miles efficient than my Core i3 Dell Chromebook from a few years ago. And it still runs great and super snappy. You are never going to need more than 4Gb of RAM for simple web browsing and media consumption.

IMO, it's hard to find a Chromebook with similar build quality and battery life in this price range. Ordered mine from eBay with a 2-year warranty and extra 12% discount. The total was about $178 with VA taxes.

Thank you, OP!

I loved mine while I had it, but it does have one fatal flaw. In laptop mode the rear sits on these super tiny feet that are on the screen side of the hinge. Somehow one of mine broke off, so I returned it. I just couldn't find any replacements, and didn't want to worry about it constantly, because it does make the laptop rock or cause the aluminum to get scuffed from touching the table.

Wanted to add my two cents. I got mine from ebay as well and this thing is fantastic. The biggest thing for me was that it's mobile processor on laptop and therefore no fans. The integration with linux + android is what really made me decide to hop on the chromebook wagon. I had ordered the Lenovo 10E prior and decided to cancel that instead because I still want a keyboard and be able to use off my lap.

What I found strange was there weren't a lot of youtube reviews for this device. Many of them just looked like they were paid by Acer so not honest reviews, and the few I did find were done when the device was just released and didn't have kinks resolved yet.

Where did you find the 12% discount at eBay?

I know I'm a few days late, but it's automatically applied in cart.

Had to return mine - if you applied very light pressure to the bottom of the screen it flexes and makes the touch screen go haywire. The mouse would move around and click on its own when sitting on my lap or on my desk without any input.
