My local Walmart has lots of Ozark Trail multi tools and knives on clearance for $1 each. Most knives are various styles of 7" folding or fixed blades. Sorry about the blurry photo, was in a rush to pick up kids. Here are links to a couple that I picked up:
https://www.walmart.com/ip/Ozark-.../380586183

https://brickseek.com/walmart-inv...=380586183
https://brickseek.com/walmart-inv...=693984942

These are usually considered cheap, but at this price, no complaints to have as extra package openers or general kitchen tools.

They are located at the end of the sporting good shelf. Could also be in the locker or the general clearance shelf.

Update: The multi tool is definitely too cheaply made to rely on. Give it to young kid to mess around at the best.

12-in-1 multi-tool is $3 at my local Walmart. Quality seems decent.

They're frequently in fishing stuff or on the under-counter display by the automotive checkout

These are so very YMMV depending on how overstocked or not your particular Walmart happens to be. Decent quality, very budget, relative soft stainless steel on the knives (likely 3Cr or 420J2) but built well enough to not be dangerous to use. <---This last part is very important and distinguishes the Ozark Trails knives and tools from true "gas station" crap knives that are often built so cheap as to be dangerous to use.

Steel is easy to sharpen, takes a good edge, but won't hold it all that long. At regular price they are about the best $4.97 knife you can get, IMHO. If you find them at $1 they are a no-brainer if you need an inexpensive knife. I've got a couple I picked up on similar clearance that are perfectly functional knives. Good knives for a responsible kid to learn on before you spend more on something nicer.

Too bad these aren't the 18-in-1 Multiforce Ozark Trail multitool. That model legitimately compares to the LM Surge in terms of usability and quality.

There are a bunch of the multitools (showing) around me for $3 but it's 50/50 whether they are worth going out for.

Could use a mediocre $1-2 knife in the tackle box. 👍
Too bad that 7" G10 isn't showing up in any store around me.

I have been waiting for that to go on sale for over a year.

For what it's worth, my local Walmart had dozens of these in stock for $3 yesterday even though brickseek says 0. It may worth checking if you have an excuse to go there already, they were all in the clearance aisle.

Multitool $1 in 99037, Brickseek says 6+ of every color. However, they were displayed in a small spinning countertop rack in the sporting goods department which only held a handful of items. I grabbed two silver and asked it there were more colors. The man rotated the rack once and said, "nope."

These are good for the tackle box or to keep in the glovebox to use in a pinch but that's about it. They won't stand up to actually being used frequently.

At $5 it's still a deal I use these all the time for work. If I lose it or forget to take it out of my carry-on at the airport. no problem it's only $5 and not $50 like a leatherman.
