I wouldn't worry about it being overkill unless it just doesn't fit. I've literally never heard anybody say "I wish I'd bought worse speakers"

Picked this up last time around. Good set up at this price point. I wish there was the two towers only deal like they had with the cherry finish. I'd jump on some more walnut 280fa

I wish they can do a bundle with rp8000f as the 280fa's walnut color is little different then the center and bookshelf. And also for folks who don't want the inbuilt up firing speakers.

Might be worth noting that the Onkyo receiver in the second bundle has HDMI 2.1 support. From what I've gathered, the receivers that do support it have had issues, but this one has good reviews. Don't know if I can justify upgrading from a 3 year old Pioneer at this price, even with the price of AV receivers skyrocketing lately.

Will that onkyo receiver be sufficient to power these ?
How does the receiver compare to Yamaha tsr-700?

They can definitely drive them all but you will see a significant benefit from using an external amp (for at least the LCR), which this cannot do. If you were looking for speakers, the price alone for that setup is good and you could even piece out things you don't like.

I'm really tempted by this because I'm starting a dedicated home theatre. I'm just afraid this might be overkill for my little 10x10 room.

150W per channel @ 8ohms, receiver 100 W per channel @ 8 ohms. How will this help?? Can I amp this to receiver to 150W??

I'm currently using a:

RP-440C center
2x R-625FA front/atmos
2x R-41M rears

All running through a Denon S760.

Would this be a solid upgrade? Any thoughts on what I would expect from the upgrade? Appreciate any input you all can provide!

Odd that they pair the older towers with the newer center channel and newer bookshelf speakers. Even though I seriously doubt the "vented tweeter" that is in the newer models makes hardly any difference. As for Gabik123, I doubt it would be a good upgrade. Just buy a SVS sub and you will be happier.

Not a good price but this is: Klipsch Reference R-625FA 5.1 Home Theater Pack, Black Textured Wood Grain Vinyl https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08WPPL...EP0S7GBTBV [amazon.com].
.your welcome
This set is the reference series, not reference premier. Not even close. Now the presidents day sales from newegg (i know most people hate them) were slick. I am only in 1500 with tax on 2 RP-280F, 4 RP-160M, and a RP-440C. That is a solid home theater set with the SVS subs I picked up also.
