2GB RAM is just not enough RAM for daily use in my opinion. Especially if you are going to be using Google Maps and Music at the same time. Pay a little extra and find one of these with 4GB RAM.

i have the A6 pro (not this exact unit, but they kept the old names) installed on my Mitubishi for a number of years.

this is not a knock off by any means. there are head units from pioneer, alpine or Kenwood that runs native android auto or some other OS, but this is more like a android tablet with a build in audio receiver. so in term of usability, i don't think this is better than pioneer or alpine, but you are not paying 1000 dollar for it either.

i installed it myself, as long as you have the basic knowledge on how to use a crimper, and know how to unplug car battery, you are pretty much set. i must also recommend buying the Axxess interface hardness for your specific vehicle, as it makes your life ALOT easier.

now keep in mind that my unit is a few years old, and my negative may no longer apply.
1. youtube bluetooth audio connection issues. especially with Samsung phones. i don't know who is to blame here, but playing youtube video/audio will have a high possibility that audio doesn't work. this often require either reboot the phone, or go to apps and stop the bluetooth app on the phone and restart the app (the actual system app). this applies from my samsung S8 all the way to S22.
2. system is VERY SLOW. like.. running an update on google map will easily take 10 minutes slow. if you were doing a firmware update, expect an hour to complete slow. i kid you not that i can only perform 1 to 2 app updates during the time of my commute. so i just don't update my apps at all.
3. firmware requires registration? like WTF? you heard it right, you cannot just find firmware and update, you need to create an account with your order ID to access the download page. oh, no OTA either. you got do download to a flash drive and do the old fashion way, did i mention each update will run for at least an hour?

at the end of the day. i use it just for bluetooth audio and AM/FM radio. the system is simply too slow to be used as a functional android tablet, i do wish the android chip-set part can be updated as the audio portion is quite decent.

Yeah, I'm surprised as well. I used to always replace the head units in my cars with ones from crutchfield from the time I got my first car in 1997 to around 2012. But now, the factory head unit in my Jeep does so much - climate control, backup camera, seat warmers, etc. I don't see how a third party head unit would be able to simply replace all that natively.

Bestbuy offers free install they have pioneer in similar price range with free install, that could be something you could try. Pioneer is known brand, you would need a harness etc as add on , Total cost in my city after taxes was 250/

My son picked up the F7 model (2020) which was on sale last month for $159.99. Pretty solid so far and he put it in his old 2005 Ford focus ST. I think the one problem he has was his focus has a Sony radio in it with a subwoofer that needs the power convert it down to 6 V to the subwoofer. But other than that he seems to like it.

No AC control. So I can't use it because my car needs to at least display the AC status on screen.

Bought two last month for both my cars 225$ each.
So far going good, apart from some minor glitches works smooth, absolutely can't complain for an after market stereo with almost every single connectivity of current time.
Does wireless car play
Wired android auto and carplay
Screen Mirroring among other regular features.

Bought this, came in today, now to see if I can install it into an old rav 4.. the wiring inside of it seems difficult so might want to look for a wiring and harness kit
For Toyotas- you can often find adapters to hook new stereo up to factory Amp, especially if not adding a new amp. Whatever wattage new devices CLAIM; comes from the dinky built-in circuit. IF that's enough for your ears, enjoy! Otherwise, join the forums Cool

Future-Proof Any stereo-install: get as many 3' Dual-RCA cables as your device can output, plug them in, leave hanging to connect the upgrades you'll want next (without having to remove the stereo again and again!) Most installs eventually want - a decent Subwoofer, then under-dash EQ.

How does this compare to the atoto f7 se ? Or the f7 xe
The F7 XE supports wireless Carplay and Wireless Android Auto. This model supports wired for both only (usb connection). This model is usually at $249 (-$75 with this deal) and the F7XE is normally at $269 (there is a $28 coupon on the Amazon page right now which would bring it down to $241). With that being said, the F7 XE looks to be a Carplay/Android Auto dedicated head unit whereas the A6 PF seems to be more like a tablet with a dedicated Android operating system allowing much more functionality than just a dedicated head unit.
The F7 SE is basically the F7 XE but restricted to wired carplay and android auto (and it looks to have a few other, smaller limitations compared to the XE) and is about $100 cheaper base price than the XE.

I bought this last year for $175 before taxes and shipping.

I replaced my stock radio for a 2013 Corolla. installation was straight forward.

I ended up buying this trim as well to cover the gaps around the screen.

https://www.amazon.com/SCOSCHE-TA...QQ5FC&th=1

I didn't bother installing the usb cables because I didn't want to drill a hole in my car. BLE works great.
Android Auto is perfect on this.

Not having a volume knob and using the touch screen instead to adjust volume took a while to get used to.

Overall, this is a great DIY project for beginners.

Can't speak much about this particular unit, but I just bought a Boss BVCP9700A from SD about a month ago and can't speak highly enough. I see the price as increased slightly, but its still only like $140 on the 'zon. Perfect for someone that needs handsfree, AA/Carplay, and backup camera on an older car.

Just another Chinese knockoff.
It may be cheap Chinese product, but knockoff of what? I was in search of a name brand that runs full android, name one?
