I work for Avis, code is valid for BAYPHARM CORP. employees only.
However, anyone can use them and most counter staffs don't care. Unless it's a manager checking you in, then they might ask for validation. The reason is because even without accidents, we periodically bill BAYPHARM CORP. for wear and tear and other miscellaneous charges, if they refuse to pay due to "fraud", you better believe we're gonna get those funds from you.

The thing about fox is that they tend to be cheaper because they tend to keep their cars past the manufacturer warranty. That's not to say their cars are not road worthy. When I took a trip in California before the pandemic, they put me in a jeep renegade with 50k miles. 50k miles is nothing in a modern car but make sure you thoroughly check the car inside and out before leaving the lot.
Make sure to have a copy of your car insurance and what it covers (including amounts) and print off what your CC will cover as well. Have phone numbers ready for them to call. Many will say its required and try to not take your paperwork.
Its a old thing they do but more and more do it now.
That and read reviews for the place you are picking up. Each one does things different and some are more pushy than others.
I'm always just confused as to what this actually means for people who don't own a car (e.g., Manhattan people). Your credit card with collision covers you for your own car, and car rental companies are suppose to cover you up to the state minimum liability (which is what they are trying to slyly say but not say on that website). But if something actuall does happens, then what.
